Description
This artwork celebrates the beautiful courtship between the striking Zebra Finches - the most common grass finches native to Australia. In this work, the female on the left, is turned back towards her mate - the male on the right - as he woos her with his birdsong.
I particularly love the contrast of the pops of bright orange with the earthy hues, plus the realism of the birds placed against my signature abstract background, and the strings of orange to tie it all together.
First Nations people name this bird Nyi-Nyi or Nyeen-ka.
