This artwork delves into the vast depths of the ocean and the almost blackness of the deep. It showcases the grace and immensity of these stunning beauties as they dive deeply into the underworld of the sea.
Whale sharks are the world's largest living fish, with fully grown adults weighing as much as three elephants. They are also the deepest diving fish, capable of diving up to a kilometre deep. Whale sharks live long lives - between 70 and 130 years old - however sadly, whale sharks are listed as endangered. Their population is declining due to rising sea temperatures, pollution, and ocean acidification. They are also frequently caught in fishing nets and killed by ships' propellers.
